E-procurement in Kenyan universities, employing methods like electronic sourcing and tendering. These approaches are tailored to institutional needs. The purpose of the study was to establish effect of e-procurement on the tendering process in public universities in Kenya with four specific objectives; To analyze the effect of e-ordering on the tendering processes in public universities in Kenya, to assess the effect of e-sourcing on the tendering processes in public universities in Kenya, to appraise the effect of e-payment on the tendering processes in public universities in Kenya, and to evaluate the effect of e-supplier management on the tendering processes in public universities in Kenya. The study was based on two theories; Diffusion of Innovation Theory and the Technology Acceptance Model. The study employed a descriptive research design. The population of the study was 136 employees from thirty-four (34) public universities in Kenya. Slovin's formula was used to determine a sample size of 102 respondents, and purposive sampling was employed to select three respondents from each university targeting Heads of Procurement, Finance, and ICT departments. Primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire employing a five-point Likert scale. Subsequently, the data was coded and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for descriptive and inferential statistics, and the findings were presented in tables. The results of multiple regression, reveal that e-ordering adoption has a p-value of 0.000, and since the p-value is less than < 0.05, the null hypothesis was rejected, e-sourcing adoption has a p-value of 0.047, and since the p-value is less than < 0.05, the null hypothesis was rejected, e-payment adoption has a p-value = 0.026, and since the p-value is less than < 0.05, the null hypothesis was rejected, e-supplier management has a p-value = 0.012, and since the p-value is less than < 0.05, the null hypothesis was rejected. It is concluded that the e-ordering has a statistically significant effect on the tendering process; e-sourcing has a statistically significant effect on the tendering process and finally, e-supplier management has a statistically significant effect on the tendering process in public universities in Kenya. The study recommends the extensive adoption of e-ordering systems to enable universities to achieve transparent visibility, maintain comprehensive audit trails, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Additionally, the study advocates for the incorporation of e-sourcing practices, the adoption of e-payment methods, and the implementation of e-supplier management systems.en_US
